Things I would like to see:
As others have stated, a few more UBB tags.
A personal post log, linked. I don't have a great deal of time to post, I especially struggle with trying to find things I have posted to. I know I could do a search, but hey, I'm too lazy ;) (i mean too busy)
A change to how the rating system works.
i) You cannot rate until you are a Grasshopper.
ii) Grasshoppers can only rate other Grasshoppers, not Juniors.
iii) The facility to change your mind. I've given out a couple of ratings I wish I hadn't.
iv) Maybe even a few moderator imposed ratings. (Troll,Guru, etc) They could be tagged onto your J'Grassh'/Grass' status.
A sticky tongue out Graemlin.

I like the way this sounds.

I second that. They all sound like good ideas. I just have one modification. Instead of j.grasshoppers not being able to vote maybe their vote would count less. Because the trasition is broken. Also furthering the weighted system, thouse with more stars and more posts would have a higher weight than a person with 0 stars and 10 posts. Im not just saying this because I am still a j.grass, I used to be a grasshopper but I made a new name (old mpetnuch)for various reasons and am stuck not in j.grasshopper dom. Anywho that would be great if this stuff could be implimented.

This is a must-have and already available! Check your own profile, but not from the "my profile" link; use the icon on top of one of your post. There is a list of the 50 last posts you made. It's a static URL, you can bookmark it.
You could also modify this URL: http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=recent_user_posts&u=00004489 to put your member ID at the end instead of mine.

Thanks for that, that will save me loads of time. I honestly hadn't noticed that that facility already existed.

Cool... I didn't know that...
That will save me the hassle of doing a search with my member number :D
I've seen a website called physcisforums.com. where, there is this link at the bottom of the page that lists all the active topics since your last visit. http://www.physicsforums.com/active.asp . linuxnewb might be too big to do this, but it mihgt be a nice featrue you never know. This way, I can go to physicsforums, and see all the topics that have been posted to or added since i last got on, without having to go to each and every forum.

LNO does indeed have a feature similar to this. If you look at the BBS front page (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi) you will see a legend at the bottom with two light bulbs ( http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/on.gif and http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/off.gif ) that represent "on" and "off". There is a light bulb next to each forum that will supposedly tell you if there are any new posts since your last visit ("on" = new posts and "off" = no new posts).
FYI. I've never seen one "off".

The only time I see it work is when the browser is closed and then reopened.
I was on LNO about 35 minutes ago and there were "lit" bulbs everywhere. I've had to kill Netscape and restart it, and now I just have three "lit" bulbs on the main page.
