Well ,

something really went wrong with my Duron 600 and it won't overclock to 1060 anymore :( ... so I'm going to buy new TB 1.4ghz :) ... I also have 1024 MB of RAM ... so , with all that said, how can I optimize linux (I have Mandrake 8.0) for my hardware ?

thanks :)

Compile the latest kernel yourself and select support for AMD, your chipset etc.

Must have spent $5,000 on a water cooled system. :D

thx ... I will have to read about that ... I'm kind of new to all that linux thing :) ...but getting there ;)

actually I only have about 6 fans in my system and nice (for Duron) GlobalWin FOP-32 heatsink ... and with all that temp. was pretty low :) ... I have nice Antec server case also ;)
