I see that nanode is posting comments again. Well, "I" know why he's been away. :)

I would like to be the first on LNO to congratulate nanode on his marriage.

I've known nanode for about a year an a half and I've also met his lovely bride and I can honestly say that they are two of the greatest people I know. I foresee them spending many many happy years together.

Congratulations buddy!
:D I'm sure the rest of the LNO programming gang shares my opinion!

Congrats, nanode :)

Make sure that she understands how much moral fiber you receive from this place so that she doesn't get jealous or think you're not spending enough time with her.

Unless, of course, spending time with her is better than spending time here.

Then we'd be sad, but we'd also understand.

Hey, nanster?? Do you have an address you could share to send an actual real life congrads card?

You can email it to me if'n you want! (^=

All,

Wow, thanks so much for the congrats. It's been almost 2 weeks now. Life is good (so far) :).

We've got a handful of photos to share:http://yunt.net/wedding/
Several people took digital pics and I will add them soon.

While were talking about weddings, I should embarass another LNO user {lugz}. He's getting married this weekend.

Consider the odds of 2 linux geeks getting hitched in the same month - someone call Guiness Book of Records. ;)

I'll pass along all your good wishes to Mrs. Nanode.

Thanks.

Well, as an old married guy (is only 6 years long enough to give advice? ;) ) I have this advice:

Don't let yourself fall into the rut of work-home-dinner-tv-sleep-work-home-dinner-tv-sleep-work-home-dinner-tv-sleep . . .
My wife and I met via a friend while rock climbing. We try to go camping 4 or 5 times a year, and now we're going on our first backpacking trip together in a couple of weeks. (not bad for an old guy eh? )

If you allow yourself to fall into the boring routine of work-home-sleep-repeat then the little things will start to upset you until the point where it becomes a big problem.

People always talk about keeping the relationship exciting. What that really means is for both of you to keep your own lives exciting. Any one of us in the software industry can tell stories about how our jobs tend to overwhelm our lives. You need to do things "outside" of work (both literally and figurativly) in order to keep your soul alive.

That's what keeps life, both individually and as a couple, interesting.

:)

kel,

I'm not yet experienced enough to give "marriage" advice, but I know tons about planning and having a "wedding" :)

Planning is always helpful, but if most of your guests have an enjoyable time, that's all that matters. Don't get hung up on seating arrangements or music selection - just be yourselves and celebrate with friends and family.

Almost forgot... once you're married, you'll always be wrong. As long as you understand this, it's smooth sailing. j/k

Does that mean you're wrong about this? But if you're wrong about this then you'd be right about saying it.

Oh no, now I'm confused! :)

Muad Dib,

Having read most of the Dune books, I find it hard to imagine Paul Atreides unable to get a date. I've always regarded that character as quite the sci-fi pimp. :)

Just remember, "the spice must flow" and so will your mojo.
