the audience is me: i know how to program, i just need to learn VB and have a reference book.
only thing i've found is o'reilly's vb/vba nutshell book, but that just looks more like a reference.
(feel free to laugh at my pain you bastards)

The MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com) site has tons of great docs -- well great if you must use VB ;) Also the included doc/help system inside Visual Studio is quite complete. Of all the hacked/kludge/junk VB I've banged out, I've never had a decent stack of dead trees. In fact, once you start poking around, you'll find VB is a horribly simple yet unweildy language.

"horrible" is the feeling i got doing some vba at my last job.
maybe i can talk my boss into footing the bill for an mcsd along the way somewhere as well.
i'll prolly end up reading a few tutorials, order a copy of the nutshell book (and maybe one other random one i find), and just have at it.

My question is, why am I cringing?
I don't get it... although it's nice of you to mention me in the title...
