Okay, I just installed RedHat 6.4 on a laptop. It previously had Win98 on it. Under Win98, I used video mode 800x600 / 16-bit color.

Linux, for some damned reason has decided it wants to use 640x480 and "stretch" it to fill the 800x600 display. How do I change the video mode so the display is set properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

try running XF86Config (or Xconfigurator)

or you could manually edit your XF86Config file in /etc/X11 using vi
