kmail then what?

ok i have kmail and got it working. i have a yahoo acount so its .smtp.mail.yahoo.com and pop.mail.yahoo.com. ok i put those settings into kmail and it didn't work. says there is no mailbox defined. so do i need to say set up a pop3 mail reciever, and get it to save the mail (where is default?) and then tell kmail to open the inbox in that folder? then for smtp everyone says use sendmail but i have a cable connection and all i can find are dial up help areas, that are really complitacted too. anywhere with a god help, that eventually gets detailed on any of this?

For checking mail: If you have a real pop3 mail account with yahoo (not just a web account)then under "incoming mail" add a pop3 account, then add your login name, password and where it says host you should use "mail.yahoo.com"

For sending mail: under smtp use "mail.yahoo.com"
