Why do you want to? You look fine on space.

how can i combine those two HDDs? Won't I run out of space when I reach 3.4 gigs?

Yeah, but why would you reach 3.4 gigs on / ? I have about 550 programs installed and I don't use that much:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdb2 957M 42M 867M 5% /
/dev/hdb3 7.5G 1.6G 5.5G 23% /usr
/dev/hdb6 6.0G 4.7G 1.3G 78% /home
/dev/hdb7 251M 214M 24M 90% /var
Note that / + /usr + /var is still only about 1.9GB. If anything else, I'd carve out a /usr partition out of /home. Unless you start getting strained for space, I wouldn't worry about it.

Does linux support any kind of logical volume manager, something like hp lvm or veritas volume manager?

i have tons of mp3s that i saved on to cds before i formatted my drive. I want to import them back but I'm afraid I might run out of space. I just installed Linux, so it's ok if it ****s up my install.

It is quite the process if you want to combine 2 separate filesystems though it can be done.
I've seen a lot of threads here on how to do it.
If this is a new install, then it would save you time and grief if you just started again and create the partitions the way you like.
Konqueror fonts?
Mine look even better than IE. Very nice.
Settings - Configure Konqueror
or
KDE Control Center - Look n Feel and adjust whatever default fonts and sizes you want.
Helvetica seems to be the best for me.
You just have to look around, find where the settings are and experiment with them.

Absolutely, and I just love it. I have been using lvm ever since the first releases, I have found it bullet-proof, and a marvelous convenience. Need some room? MAKE all you need over any number of disks. Do a search for linux lvm on any engine, it's really easy to install, and ends forever, the "I wish I had made ______ bigger" hassel.

here is another option. Save all your mp3's to /home. no matter how much you put in /home you will not affect /.
