apache and php

im trying to install php into apache on mandrake..all the docs i see on the subject approach it from the command line, ie, ./configure this and that...

but i installed php through the software manager, and as far as i can tell, its in there....in /etc/httpd/conf/addon-modules is a php.conf, but when i go httpd -l, i dont see any php in there, and my sample script didnt work...is there any further .conf file i have to change?

did you install from the mandrake cd's?

i presume so, if so then you can install apache with php included from the cd's
