I downloaded a package unzipped it as per instructions ./configure,make ,make install, OK everything looks good but the prog wouldnt run.

I keep getting an error message cant open .conf file in /etc/tinyproxy/tinyproxy.conf .

Now the directory its looking for /etc/tinyproxy/tinyproxy.conf doesnt exist and the file its looking for the .conf file is in /home/janet/tmp/tinyproxy-1.4.0/doc where I downloaded the prog to.

What do I do ?? Ive tried creating the directory its looking for and copying the .conf file to it but that didnt work either.

Thanks

A little idea of what program you're using may help. You may not even need a proxy service if you're using it for a simple application, but knowing the program/usage is the only way to tell. You can also probably find tinyproxy at linuxapps.com (http://linuxapps.com/)

other than that, you can double check the configure/make scripts in case your distro moved the necessary files to another location.
