Im trying to set up Networking in Redhat 7 properly, however when I enter my domain + hostname while using LinuxConf, it does not let me put the whole address, how do I extend this charecter limit?
If I cant, how can I edit that information directly, Im a far cry from an expert with linux, however I do have a little experience.

Thanks for any help, and please give details if you do help.

What are your other settings? Your problem is kind of vague... for instance, if you use dhcp, linuxconf won't keep your hostname settings. You would have to set those up in your hosts file. What kind of network is it?

I set it up manually

Im trying to set it up for cable modem, I had it working fine with mandrake because I could enter all the info into linuxconf, but there is some charecter limit and it wont let me enter the information.

Don't know about that, haven't tried out Mandrake 7.2 yet. But you can always edit your local host names manually from /etc/hosts - just follow the form of the other entries.

I don't believe there is a character limit. When I enter my host and domain name I don't see the last character in the text box.... but it is there.
