I would really like to setup my joystick in linux but I don't know how, or if mine is even supported...

It's an InterAct Propad 6. Can anyone tell me if and how I can set it up?

hello,
i think getting the joystick working is easier than getting the joystick port working, anyway, let us know what kind of sound card you have, if it is PCI or ISA or on the MB, or a USB one. For starters just try as root:
modprobe joystick (joystick port)
modprobe joy-analog (generic joystick driver)

The sound card is an Ensoniq, PCI, and the joystick just plugs right into that. It's a 6-button joystick.. anything else you need to know?

Ack, what's the module for a digital 6-button joystick? I don't like analog drivers for this particular one...

Hello,
Is the joystick working at all with the analog module? Here is a list of modules I have for joysticks:

joy-analog.o
joy-assassin.o
joy-console.o
joy-creative.o
joy-db9.o
joy-gravis.o
joy-lightning.o
joy-logitech.o
joy-magellan.o
joy-pci.o
joy-sidewinder.o
joy-spaceball.o
joy-spaceorb.o
joy-thrustmaster.o
joy-turbografx.o
joy-warrior.o
joystick.o

I would try these out and see which which one works best. I have never heard of the InterAct Propad6.

I am also on the conquest of getting my interact propad 6 working under linux and i've gotten one step closer by using:

modprobe joydev
modprobe ns558
modprobe analog

I can play games with it, but only four buttons work...
