In a lame attempt to gain some posts in my Programming forum, I'm throwing a Coolest Script Contest at my site. The rules are simple and are posted on my board. The winner will receive a US Robotics Sportster 36.6 modem that works in Linux and Windows.

No offense, dood, but a 33.6 modem??
I think people would be more willing to do a contest for no prize.
Why not a qool book or something? People like books, especially when they have a choice of books.

if everyone in the programming forum gave 25 cents, we'd have a better prize...
Next time there's a coding contest, we could do a lottery - pay an entry fee and win back everyone else's $$$, but that'd likely introduce corruption into our otherwise civilized forum. :)

Exactly. For this first one I am on a limited operating budget. I happen to have several spare modems, and while 36.6 isn't the fastest, it does work under Linux.
Next month will be a book or a gift certificate for Amazon or something.....

ok! In response to the overwhelming thought that the prize I had offered was lame, I decided to up the ante, the winner will receive a 25 dollar gift certificate for Amazon.com.

Am I the only one getting a "file missing" error when trying to follow the linked thread?
