Ok so when that guy posted a message about which was the best Distro, I guess Slackware was the distro. What's so good about it?

It's like the "kit" of all Linux distributions. It allows you an easy install and such, but it's also bare-bones enough to let you get in there and fix up everything the way you want it. It's very flexible and very powerful.

I'll agree with the easy install thing, I can get all the way to cli no prob. Everything after that is a b*&^%. At least for me it is. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif Can't get X to run for nothing.

I don't know, maybe it's got something to do with my Riva TNT card or I'm just too dim to figure it out.

In the mean time, Storm is for me.

slack is raw! you like. know what's inside it. It's not there unless you put it there pretty much. and since you set everything up your self pretty much. You know what' sgoing on. I have more problems with my mandrake box than I have had with my slackbox. and my slackbox has a webserver running and everything! I'm still trying to sort out how mandrake set things up for me... gesh.
