this is a silly question, but I'm not grabbing linux file permissions. I shared a public folder in samba in the normal way (smb.conf), and gave a group permissions to use it (my 'everyone' group). I can see the folder, in samba, but I can't read/write.
the path is /home/share
Does the parent folder need to have the appropriate permissions? Do I need to change the owner of this directory?
Where are shared directories usually stored?
I've read up on file permissions, I even think there's an nhf, but putting it into practice....
thanks
