I just burned a CD with Mandrake 7.2 and when I boot the install program it doesn't see my hard drive! I have a Matrox Ultra100 hooked to a Promise controller in my Asus A7V motherboard. I try to get Drake to see it by selectin a SCSI interface but no luck. Did someone have a similar problem? Thanks for any help.

Just my personal opinion !

I have been using red hat for 2 years and used turbolinux, Mandrake 7.1 I tried and 7.2.
Personally I think that they are easily the worst of all of the above three when it comes to installation and hardware detection.

The installation program is a Joke compared to the others I just mentioned.

So if it doesn't see the drive then I'm practically screwed?

Not at all!

Goddamn people who say stay away from one distribution or another. Let people decide themselves what they like!
