Hi all,

I'm installing Red Hat 7 on my work laptop. I'm using netconf to configure my home network. Anyone know what I would use for the kernel module setting for the NIC? I have a Xircom pcmcia card. I'm so used to setting up the network on my desktop PC's (ne2k-pci).

Thanks.

You don't need one, those are for pci/isa cards. You use cardmgr for it. If the card is in and it's not working, I'm pretty sure with redhat that one of these will work:

type: /etc/init.d/pcmcia restart

or

just eject and reinsert the card if cardmgr is running. Redhat should be able to pick up and set up your network card that way.

You will also have to set up your dns, ip, etc if you have them, but that should get the card working.
