Christmas Network?

I am at my bro's. I he has dsl and he has his computer here aswell as my old computer with him. I am planning to have my old box connected to dsl and be a router/firwall/webserver. I will have my bro connect his computer to my old box for the internet. So I will need to do IP masquarading.

Both machines will have Slack. Please give my any tips that will be usefull for this network.

possibly SAMBA, for file/print sharing
a kernel with all your friendly ip_masq mods

other than that, I can think of anything else at the moment

Ok I got Slack installed on my old machine. Now while I was trying to take a nap I came up with a problem. What program or what script can I use for it to reconnect when pppoe/dsl goes down. I though of Coyote linux Or something like that but I got a 3gig hd and I want to use it as a server too.
