Question about fonts in Konquer and Mozilla | Which do you guys prefer?

Ok, this is likely an extreme newbie question, but...

I'm running Mandrake8.0 with KDE2.1.1 as my desktop manager.

I have antialiasing turned on within my KDE configuration menu, and have "apply fonts and colors to non KDE apps" on as well. The AntiAliasing works in every program I've seen- except Mozilla. For some reason, all of Mozilla's fonts are wrenchingly jagged and frightening. In addition, from Mozilla's settings-fonts menu, under WESTERN encoding, I can only access some of the fonts on my system. And they all look really hideous without AA. Help!!!

On Konquer, in many BBS systems (I've noticed IB inparticular) and static webpages, for some odd reason there don't seem to be any paragraphs. Every page is just a really big mess of text. Yes, basic formatting is all there and that jazz, but new paragraphs aren't created... its hard to explain this, so I'll give an example.

Konquer.

No matter how many hard returns I code into a BB message, it still displays it as one big paragraph. And its really getting on my nerves :rolleyes:

Lastly- what browser do you guys prefer, Konquer or Mozilla? So far, I've largely used Konquer because of the AA and font choice, but its annoying not having all of the plugins on here (yes, I tried installing it using the tut from the NHF section, didn't work).

So what do you guys think is the best choice? Or do you use Lynx or Galleon?

lynx is linux's best browser...but if you're an X junkie, use opera.

yeah, its konqueror, sorry, typo, heh.

I have no problem with AA in konqueror- I have absolutely NONE in mozilla though. :(

And the enters bit only happens on IB for some reason...

I used to have AA trouble in all my browsers. In fact, anything that would render HTML - Konqueror, Mozilla, Netscape, Galleon, KMail, anything would have ugly horrible jagged fonts.

but anything that wasn't rendering HTML - Licq, Kmail on text messages, Konqueror browsing local drives would render the fonts fine.

I found out it was a problem with my font encoding... I don't know why but the default encoding is just ugly as sin.

So what I did was, I forced Konqueror to use iso 8859-13 encoding. Yes, it limited me to a choice of about 4 fonts, but at least they look good :)
