little boxes instead of letters!!

Hi ya'll,

I just installed XFree 4.1, and everything works great EXCEPT instead of letters in all my menus(GNOME) I get little boxes.
When I run any KDE apps, everything works ok. I can see my menu choices, etc.
Needless to say, this makes it kind of hard to know what I'm doing.
Anyone know what's going on?

Oh, you can't read boxscript yet?
You have to know how to interperet that to use linux...
Or you just ignore me cuz i really have no idea what's wrong.

Maybe your fonts are fscked up...Can you get into stuff and have the text look normal? Or is it in everything...

Text within a browser is fine.
Everything else is screwed.

Sounds like you need to turn on the X Font Server. Also make sure that in your XF86Config(-4) file under 'Section "Files" you at least have the font entry: FontPath "unix/:-1".

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I booted up this morning, and everything works fine. Go figure.
