Ok, I got apache running in my webpage dir (/web) and i thought i had configured it to use SHTML.
I thought wrong.
I added:
AddType text/html .shtml
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
but it doesn't work. (I added it in srm.conf and httpd.conf)
Any ideas?

What exactly isn't working?
P.s. you may want to ask this question in the Web Serving/Security (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=21) forum.

The SHTML isn't working. The code I put in shows up in the source and doesn't turn into what I wanted it to. (like it's not enabled)

Ah, I see. I'm not too familiar with SSI so I probably won't be of any help.
There's a thread in the Programming, Script Depot (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=14) about this so maybe that may shed some light on your problem:
