Printer config problem in Debian

I installed Debian, but my Epson Stylus 400 Color Printer doesn't work. The message I get is that the printer isn't configured. How do you config a printer in Debian?

Well, my favorite two methods would be using either apsfilter or printtool.. You can use apt to get either, assuming apt is setup.. That should also take you through the config, and hopefully get you a working printer. I'd use stcolor on the apsfilter side, I'm not sure on the printtool side.

Another dumb question.
Do you just type apt-get and the program you need at a prompt and somehow Debian finds it?
How does that work?
