I am trying to install linux on a very old computer that doesn't seem to have a graphics card. Everytime after i configure the monitor settings, it tells me i have an 'x configuration' error...and then tells me to configure the graphics card myself...so is it not possible to install linux on a machine without one? ...or a really crap card that's with the motherboard?

Thanks for your help!

A very old computer? If it's an OLD computer (like before 1992) you probably don't want XFree.
