With mandrake 7.2, I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the graphic boot display. I does not boot into x, it shows the services starting in a graphic display that not only makes the boot slower, it is ugly. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

The graphical boot package is called aurora, remove that from your boot up runlevels and you should be happy http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif
Jakieboy!
Ps. haven't checked in which runlevel it's started though!

Use Drake Conf or Linux Conf and go to the boot setting section. There's a check box you can check to say "Boot to command line" or "Boot graphically".
Now, if you're interested in what's happening behind the scenes then do this:
FInd your /etc/inittab file and check it out. You'll see a line for runlevel at startup. THAT's what all these graphical configuration programs are actually modifying.
