How To Get Back to the graohical Login

Hello,
I am using mandrake 7.2. I like it alot and I am currently looking for a modem to work with it. The problem I am having is that I no longer get to the graphical login. I get to the regular console login. My questions is how do I get it set back to the graohical login because I know jack crap about the console and its commands http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif Thank you!

you can either edit /etc/inittab or run Xconfigurator.

If you edit inittab then you need to change your run level to 5 it is most likely set to run level 3. the line you need to change looks like

id:3:initdefault:

just replace the 3 with a 5

All Xconfigurator does is edit that entry.

For a modem, buy an external one. Preferably one with a good chipset (connexant, US Robotics or lucent - avoid cirruslogic). The chipset is more important than the brand of modem.
