Hi there,

I have SuSE 7.0. Will Olitec Speed'Com 2000 external modem work? I would appreciate some opinions from other people who have got their modems working with Linux.

Regards
Davey

It should, I think even external usb modems are supported in the 2.2.18 kernel but if its an external serial modem it should definitly work.

Thanks.

SuSE detected the modem on /dev/ttyS0. But when I tried to connect to Lineone (ISP in UK) it would not connect? Anyone got any ideas on what I am doing dodo? Do I set it to CHAP/PAP, LF/CR? Or do I just fiddle around until I get it right? Do I select /dev/modem or /dev/ttyS0?
