I've tried to install KDE 2.0 from tgz-files I got from Slack's slackware-current -folder. The darn thing wouldn't start and it killed X for me.
It complained about not finding libGLU.so.1.
Using ldd on a couple of the apps it complained about, like ksplash, ktip - I found that I was lacking libGL.so.1 too. When updating to xfree86 4.0.1 (or was it .2?), libGL was in that packagage (i suppose it's some OpenGL kind of lib, so I suspected that).
But I have not been able to find the package containing libGLU.so and libGLU.so.1.
I'm getting frustrated here, and when I get frustrated I tend to as you lot about it, 'cos then I usually get a sane answer.
I will be checking this thread often, 'cod I NEED HELP (he shouted of full lungs).
