Hey guys I've been trying to install redhat 7.0 on a few HP BRIO machines in the office for peopel who've been requesting duel boot systems. HP seems to have a lock on the machines not allowing people to mess with the MBR hence LILO is not being installed...I've solved this problem once on my box but *snicker* fergot to write it down. Any ideas on how to disable this function?

Should be an option in the BIOS, maybe try turning off the bios antivirus?

If the machine boot NT (or Win2k) there is a way to use the NT Loader to dual boot NT and Linux. One can also setup a dual boot with loadlin and a simple batch script. Hopefully one of these options will be able to help you out.

Just install lilo to a linux partition and make that partition active through linux fdisk and you don't have to mess with the mbr.

yeah there isn't any option in the bios..gone over it many times already. It will install windows with no problem as well as linux but fails to keep the LILO changes..I can boot up into Linux with the boot disk though.
