i have configured samba using swat. i set the workgroup name to home which iam using on my LAN. why does it show up as mdkgroup when i check smbclient localhost?
i have a netgear router with dhcp auto ip 192.168.0.1 with 2 comps 0.2 and 0.3 I cannot browse linux shares from Win ME but can ping from both pcs. what gives? nmbd and smbd is running + password encryption is yes
i set up my lan connection on install but gnome says cannot find dhcpcc2, need to add to hosts???? which hosts files do i update? hosts.conf, hosts? or resolv.conf
and lastly i want only intrnal pcs to access my shares is it allow = 192.168 in smb.conf
