Supposing I only have 1 cdrw and no cdrom, can I copy a cd into an image and then burn it into a blank cd, using xcdroast?

Yep you can. Get cdrtoaster I believe its the best gui program for burning cds.

Yes, I do it all the time with xcdroast.
