Hey All-

I've only used RedHat and Slackware. I keep hearing that Debian is the greatest thing since chickpeas. I think I want to try it, but before I do... why should I?

simple install (some people may disagree), apt-get, no worries about dependencies like RPMS, also has better package database management. apllications which are installed also get configured right away. TONS and TONS of applications precompiled for it.
its cool.

I can't say enough about Debian. It is by far my favorite distro.
Since you've used and installed Slack, you won't have a problem with Debian.
It's a crisp and clean distro. And apt-get is sweet, especially once you get the hang of how and why it works.
Give it a shot... I hope you like it.
I know I (and others) do.
