Anyone install this plug-in?

I downloaded the plugin:

rp8_linux20_libc6_i386_cs1.bin

Running RH 6.1

Instructions say to chmod u+x on the above file and then run it with:
./rp8_linux20_libc6_i386_cs1.bin

This looks too easy!!. Do in need to be root or better yet should I be root? I know that the permissions change lets me run the binary without being root since the chmod u+x command.
I know this is a binary but I'd like to see what the hell it does first, like looking at the script eh?. But not possible. Just want a little assurance before I let it fly.

I'm running Netscape 4.7.

Thanks

hello,
i would install it, copy the pluggin to whereever you keep your pluggins and that sould be it. there may be install scripts too. i know i needed to delte .Realsomething in my home directory when going from real 5 to real 7.

you need to be root to istall the software if installing to /usr/local, or if it is an rpm, but not to copy the pluggins to your $HOME/.netscape/pluggins/

Hey, RP8 install was that easy http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif !!!

The binary installer installed all the associations automagically in the Netscape ->preferences-> applications. It associated them with my $home since I ran the installer script from there. Easy. If I move them I just need to create another directory and do edit the associations in netscape.

Also take a look at the NH file for install. But this was much easier than that !!
