Hi

I have a NT4 network running on local IP. Now I have install (fresh) RH 6.1 on a machine and want this machine to be avliable on network. I have configured the IP, Subnet, GW etc. on this machine. It can ping to itself (127.0.0.1), however I can't ping any other Windows9x, NT or 2000 machine on the same network/domain/workgroup.

Please Help.

Can you ping yourself by using the local IP of the machine? If not, you may want to check your settings again. What kind of network card and what medium? Some network drivers require that you tell it what medium is on it. I think most are set to RJ-45 by default. Are you sure the hardware connections are good? I'd try swapping out the cables with another computer if it's twisted pair. Also make sure the network card is good before you go too deep trying to figure it out.

I swaped the network cable and it worked.
