I am trying to set up internet from a windwos based machine. I have an IP of 192.168.1.14, his is 192.168.1.13. I am able to ping his computer, but I am not able to receive internet through the network...can anyone help me...also I am trying to get Samba to work. According to a friend, Samba is already on my computer, seeing as I have Linux Mandrake (with Red Hat 5.2). My problem is, I tryed running one of the commands (smbmount) and it didn't work. Can anyone help me with these two problems?

Hey, I know this was posted last month and I hope you have it working now, but if not:

Do you have Internet access on the Linux box? If so I would suggest PMFIREWALL. It will setup your ipchains/ipmasquerading to allow for this.

Your IP scheme should be similar to this:

Linux Box:
IP - 192.168.0.1
SubMask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway -

Windows Box1:
IP - 192.168.0.2
SubMask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.0.1
