I just installed Wolverine (fresh) on my computer and it will not get the
dhcp information from the cablemodem. During install i did set up ipchains
but left eth1 as trusted just incase I had a problem with the set up.

Neither my 3com905b (eth0) or my linksys (eth1) will pull the ip info from
dhcp. I did notice that it was trying to TR to the cablemodem and the
cablmodem did light up but NWAY still failed when brining etho or eth1 up.

rh 70 with 2.2 and 2.4.2 worked fine. On more thing that may be of help is
that it is VERY important to my 3com cablemodem that the nic be set to 10tx
and halfduplex for everything to work correctly, I do not know how to check
the duplex but I do know that the light on the nic is connection at 10tx.

Thanks
Bill

do you have BOOTPROTO="dhcp" in your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 ?

I have problems with Samba and NFS (both worked in RH 7.0). Guess that's why they call it BETA!!!! :D

Oh, and because I'm such a masochist, I'm going to give Mandrake's 8.0 Beta a try in a few minutes. I'll let you know if it's better than Wolverine.
