Hello everyone!
I have this problem after my kernel upgrade from 2.2.14-5.0 to 2.2.18.
Eveyrhting seems to function very fine and fast I might add. But it seems that my computer does not shutdown. The messages say that the system is halted and power down. But my computer does not entirely shut down. I configured the kernel with the APM daemon. But it still does not shutdown. What are other options i need to configure?
During 2.2.14-5.0 my kernel config had a power off on shutdown option but in 2.2.18 it does not have this option.
Please help me solve this problem.
Thanks so much!

When it says system halted and power down, what else are you expecting (this indicates to me that it _is_ shutdown/halted)? The only additional thing I know of is to automatically power down. For it to do this enable the power save feature in your Bios.

Well other thing that you might look at is your bios. Check your bios settings plus their other way also too. Hold down your power button your computer for about 5 secs it should turn off and new settings should appear when you try to shut it down once again.

switch :P
