Settings in the XF86Config file are pretty much irrelevant until you have the relevant drivers installed. I'd suggest getting the right drivers from www.nvidia.com (http://www.nvidia.com) . Then, you'll have to edit the Config file to take account of the driver's name "nvidia". The driver's readme file, which is nice to have printed out, has a fairly informational and painless installation walkthrough.

Of course this may be different with 4.0.2, which I haven't installed yet. I don't want to tease myself yet... all I want for Christmas are anti-aliased fonts...

I have a GeForce2 running just dandy with Xfree86 4.0.2. Just follow the instructions included with the GTX and drivers. Except, asd I don't know if this is the same for other distributions, with Mandrake 7.2 don't run XFconfig after installing the new drivers it really screwed me up. Just edit the existing config file made by Drake and you'll be just fine.

uma - take a look at RFC 959 http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif. If you need more help, start a new topic, and give us more information.
