I'm attempting to install Linux RedHat 7.1 from the box (yes, I'm aware I could have received it for cheaper but I'm an idiot) and I've gotten stuck before I even finish the initial install page. The manual says that an autopartitioner will decide how to divide my drive (I don't care if it overwrites other things on the drive) but when I get to the auto partitioning part it is running a manual partitioning program. I have NO CLUE how to do that and was wondering if you people would know why it was skipping the auto-step. Help please, I hate windoze.

i don't know why but you can always partition your drive the old fashion way: manually.
for starters you need two partitions:
?00megs for "swap partition"
?000megs for "linux extended"
that's all you need.

Your certainly not an idiot in my book. I always try to purchase the retail package of the distro I use. You do get lots for your money and are also helping to keep them in business. You can't keep giving everything away for free and expect to stay in the black.
Back to your problem. Are you using 'Expert' mode for the install? I always use expert mode install with my distro and it allow total control over everything including creating/deleting partitions.

other things you'll need to know:
if you don't care about windows, delete your existing partitions. It's going to ask you for a "mount point" for the linux extended partition, so just set that to "/" (no quotation marks).
Let us know if you're still lost. Don't worry, it's confusing at first :)

Does it go to a screen that looks like the picture "Partitioning with Disk Druid" on page 47 of the installation guide? If so, you may not have clicked the button for "Automatically partition and REMOVE DATA" on the "Disk Partitioning" screen (page 45.) I'm reading from a US purchased version of RH7.1 Standard, so hopefully your installation guide is the same one.
