What is the best way to upgrade to the new kernel. I have RH7.1, should i use up2date?

What other things should i be aware of?

Thanks in advance

Have you read the Newbie Help File (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/compiling/kernel_update.html) for it?

Use RPMs if you like, but everyone will agree that using a custom kernel compiled for your own system will not only run better, but it will always run as long as you choose the right options for your hardware. The same cannot be said for kernel binaries like RPMs. We have NHFs for kernel updating and kernel compiling.

Do not use the Up2Date kernel upgrade. It will involve you reinstalling linux if you do. Do it by hand,it is cleaner and stable. Plus it is YOURS. Nothing like the feeling of a new kernel compile....ummmm I think I will go do one.
