I recently upgraded Win98 to WinME, didn't change anything to the smb.conf. Problem is, WinME doesn't want/like to logon to the emulated WinNT of Samba at the beginning of the login screen. I basically tried everything, encrypting passwords, disable and enabling the plaintextpasswords in WinME. What's wierd is, I would get "There are no domain servers that can validate your password, you will not be able to access some network resource." Didn't get anything in the logs of samba, BUT when I get denied login procedures, I can still browse the samba fileserver fine. Anyone resolved the issues with WinME and Samba?

It has to be WinME i think, because Win98 worked just fine. Turned off all firewalls when I did diagnostics, and obviously I can access shared folders in samba, its just the authenication procedures logging onto the Windows NT domain.

Please help, thanks!

I've only used Samba with a clean install of win me, don't know what discrepancy there might be with 98. I had some trouble getting it working right until I found this: http://www.linuxjunior.org/cgi-bin/pet/pet.cgi?SUBMIT=Display&id=6
