I recently decided to set up my linux box as a internet/mail server on a home lan but i seem to be having problems connection to my router. I have a simple linsys router that has an ip of 192.168.1.1 and then I set up my windows box ip as 192.168.1.100 and my linux box ip as 192.168.1.101 . My windows box has no trouble locating and pinging the router however my linux can not. I have tried many different things and HOWTO's but none seem to fix the problem. I can ping the local ip of the the linux server but when I try to ping the router's ip and do a tcpdump I get a response of "..........arp who has 192.168.1.1 tell {myservername}". Does anyone know why it is doing this and how I ican fix it? Thanks

I've seen the exact same question asked the past day or so in another forum. You may want to have a look at that to see if there's a solution.
