Hello, how do I set up the TCP/IP settings on my win98 machine, so that it will find the DNS servers that my linux machine uses?

I've tried everything I can think of. I think that my firewall is routing... I just can't figure out why IE can't locate DNS.

Thanks

Win 98 Box-
Gateway: IP of Linux box
DNS Server: DNS Server IP of ISP

If that doesn't work then your Linux box either isn't routing, eth0 is not active, the IP's on the Linux box and the Win box don't match, or something is unplugged =)

What firewall do you have? PMFirewall works well for Internet Connection sharing. Try that and let us know what happens.

OK, I set up my win98 box's dns to my isp's ip's.... I had to put in the host and domain entries in the tcp/ip settings of the NIC, so I put linux.local (my machine) and for the Gateway I pu the IP of my internal NIC (the external IP was there already so I left it there aswell)

I did find that I"m having a problem wiht forwarding, I think I"m not supposed to be using ipchains, my kernel is 2.4, and I have found modules for ip_tables... I'm going to insmod them, and see what happens, but it's strange, the firewall came with SuSE 7.1, and it's set to use ipchains???? Anymore help would be great, thanks....
