Connection stalls then dies

Hi all,
I seem to have everything I want up and running but my internet connection seems to stall out and then die(losing ppp connection). I can then restart adsl but why is this doing this. In winbloze I had my connection up for days at a time. Any help would be great.

Pentium 100.
eth1 intel eepro
speedtouch home-Pacbell/dynamic IP
mandrake corp 1.0
roaring penquin

Please help... everything would be great if it was stable.

I had a similar experience. The problem turned out to be that my ethernet adapter was sitting on the wrong IRQ. It wasn't conflicting with anything, but it still didn't work. So maybe you want to try changing the IRQ to something lower (3 or 5 is what I use).

I'll give that a try tonite, changing eth1 to irq=3. Right now eth1 is set to irq=5 io=0x280. Eth0 is on irq=10, io=0x300 eexpress ip 10.0.0.1.
