Hello everyone, I have some questions about DHCP. My question is can I have more than one DHCP server on a network? I would like to have one primary and one backup, is this possible? The network has about 100 users on it. The network is all Windows NT, what I would like to do is set up a backup DHCP server running Slackware 7.1 just in case NT dies on me.

If anyone has done this before or know how to do this please let me know. Thanks...

Probably, but I wouldn't recommend it. My guess is that the first one to answer would be the one to issue the lease. This, if you use the same range for your DHCP clients on both servers (i.e. they give out the same range of IPs), could lead to two computers having identical IPs simultaneously and that is bad news.
