How small can you make Linux w/o xwindows, just text? Any chance you can get it down to around 192 MB or less?

You could run a barebones Slackware system in about 150MB or less. That's what I've done for some of my systems.

what's that consist of n is it fast at all?

see i also want to use about 128 MB ram here, but there's no room for that much swap here. I'm not sure how to go about this, anywhere i can learn about shrinking all this? :rolleyes:

you could try lfs or a single floppy distro and just add the stuff you need
