i can try to help you. what do you need to know. i just got samba up and working on my linux box, so all the info is pretty fresh.

really i just need a Guide... (im going to use it later) first ive got to get Redhat 7 to like getting its Net Connection from a 2000 box.....

Also, if you're just looking for straight-forward instructions I found the chapter about win/linux connections in "Running Linux" to be pretty easy to understand.
