I was wondering how a "crazy" person would go about installing linux on a virgin computer, without using a distibution. How hard is it to do something like this, and where do you even start?
Thanks in advance.

If you define cowardice as running away at the first sign of danger, screaming and tripping and begging for mercy, then yes, Mr. Brave Man, I guess I'm a coward.

Even with LFS you still need a distribution installed so you can make a filesystem, compile source code, etc. But once you're finished you can get rid of the distro you used.

Constitutional Republic: Same as above, but lamb's not on the menu (unless the wolves are really hungry).

Install Minix, compile the Linux kernel on Minux and go from there.
