Quick question for you all. I was wondering, in a Solaris environment, you want the root login shell to be sh (bourne). Mainly for historical and other reasons . . blah blah. But, in linux, is there a certain login shell that I should use for root? Thanks everyone, and happy Veterans Day.

Well, I understand that you can use any of several.

I use bash (bourne again shell) because my Linux distro (RedHat6.2) comes preconfigured. It's the only shell I use as I am just getting started in Linux.
