i finally have managed to share an internet connection using my dsl modem in a win98 machine it took quite a bit of reading but it was worth it i still have a few questions if someone would be so kind?


for some reason i cannot see the linux machine in win98 network neighborhood i can get online and i ping all machines
any ideas ???

I believe you would need Samba for this.

Lots of threads on Samba and also a NHF on the subject.

I'd like to know how you did it myself. I have been struggling with the same issues for 2 weeks. I have two windows 98 machines and two linux machines. The windows machines see each other and get on the net, but the linux machines are driving me crazy. I'd just be happy with all of them getting on the net.
