I'm trying to figure out how I can download an iso9660 image of Mandrake 7.2 so that I can burn it to a CD...their website says that these files can be used for easy cd burning (I think that means you don't have to unzip them before burning them), but it doesn't specify where. They have a huge list of ftp sites to download images, but since I don't know much about it, I don't know which (if any) are the iso9660 type. I suppose I could download them anyways, but I'm not sure what programs will unzip these types of files. Any suggestions?

if downloaded in windoze:
.iso files don't unzip (although some distro's might come zipped and then unzip into an .iso file?)
your cd burner software will either recognize them and let you burn it straight to cd or you might have to change the file extension to .cif (for adaptec easy cd creator for example), then the cd software will let you make the cd from that file
look in the cd burning software for an option to create cd from a file
if downloaded in linux:
i don't know, i don't have a burner on my linux box

ISO files are images of a CD. In other words unless they are burned as an image then they wont work. Burning them isnt hard but you just have to have the right software to do the job. Adaptec Easy CD Creator is a wonderful app for such things. Also CDR-WIN is another app that works just as good. Hope this helps you some.

Go here to get all the iso files you will ever need;
http://www.linuxiso.org/
I know the Corel Linux file was compressed, but the Mandrake iso's at this site are ready to burn.
