Telneting from Linux to SCO

I need to be able to telnet from my RH62 box at home to some of my SCO uniox boxes at work....
The problem is not connect but scoansi....
When I am in and running vi and hit an up arrow for instance i pputs the letter "b" in my file...
Down puts "a"s and what not.
How can i get the scoansi setting to run when i run telnet??

set the emulation type to vt100 or whatever sco uses, btw where I work (HP) they are dropping all sco boxes that run the tape library modules and installing linux, i didnt get to ask him what distro or if it was going to be built from scratch

Man I wish I could drop sco and go Linux all the way. I working on it slowly but surely but the main sys programer is a pain.....
